Nearly Midnight

Step into an enchanting realm of fanciful fun and whimsical artworks as Brisbane Quarter, the home of international cuisine and indulgent experiences, hosts the new Nearly Midnight installation by acclaimed local artist Rachel Burke from 16 January to 27 March 2024.

With a nod to the ‘Fairy Tales’ exhibition on display at GOMA until 28 April 2024, Brisbane Quarter visitors will feel like Cinderella amid Rachel Burke’s eye-catching, largescale works and themed drinks and bites inspired by the timeless tale offered by the Brisbane Quarter restaurants including Persone, Phat Boy, Phoenix, Tenya and W Brisbane’s Living Room Bar.

Nearly Midnight will transform 300 George Street into an enchanted forest of shimmering blue and silver tinsel with a larger-than-life, two-metre-high sparkly slipper as the exhibit’s bedazzled mirrorball focal point on Podium 1.

Bedecked with more than one million miniature glass tiles, the Nearly Midnight slipper offers an engaging fantasy encounter, reimagining an ordinary day in The City into an extraordinary one.

A fantastical light-up tinsel and tulle dress exhibit made by a ‘fairy godmother’ using upcycled garment bases on Podium 2 will infuse even more magic.

Pairing with the playful theme, Brisbane Quarter invites visitors to dine, stay and play amid the tinsel canopy with special dishes and beverages to treat your taste buds and captivate your senses at select restaurants and retailers:
