Shape of Water Installation at Brisbane Quarter 

From 22 July to 27 August, in celebration of GOMA’s blockbuster exhibition, Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, Brisbane Quarter has engaged final year QUT Fashion Design students to create eight intricate designs inspired by the acclaimed Dutch designer to be on display on Podium 1. 

DineStay and Play at Brisbane Quarter by viewing the incredible installation, eating at the delicious range of restaurants just upstairs, who have specially-created Shape of Water themed dishes to try, and stay at W Brisbane to make a culture-packed weekend out of your visit!

Brisbane Phoenix: ‘The Red Sea’: Szechuan Hot Chilli Broth with Fish Fillet $52 (serves 2-3 people)

What’s more comforting than a hot bath on a cold winter’s night? Rich in traditional spice and packed with that addictive Szechuan chilli taste, Brisbane Phoenix’s special fish broth dish is a must-try during the installation period featuring the native Asian delicacy, Black Snakehead, that is cooked to perfection. 

Persone: ‘Aqua Dolce’ Cocktail $22

If the ocean were a cocktail, this would be it. Snap a picture of the aesthetic island blue cocktail before sipping on the refreshing flavours of Tequila, Elderflower and Blue Curacao topped with a Caramelised Fresh Lime Juice.

Fashion, art, design, science and technology collide in the world of endlessly innovative and internationally acclaimed Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen.

Exclusive to Brisbane, this exhibition at GOMA is an immersive sensory exploration of her practice with close to 100 garments in conversation with contemporary artworks, natural history specimens and cultural artefacts from which the designer draws inspiration, running from 29 Jun to 17 Oct 2024.
